The basics

What is retail fulfillment

Retail fulfillment means shipping your products to stores and wholesale buyers, not to individual shoppers.

WHAT YOU DO TODAY

Online orders

One shopper buys from your store. We ship a parcel to their home.

WHAT RETAIL ADDS

Retail orders

A store or distributor sends a purchase order. We ship cases or pallets to their warehouse, with the paperwork they require.

We handle both from the same inventory, so selling to stores never slows down your online orders.

Omnichannel

One inventory for DTC wholesale and retail

Splitting stock between an ecommerce warehouse and a wholesale warehouse creates double counts, missed orders and cash tied up in the wrong place. We run one inventory pool in Miami that feeds every channel. Your stock serves these channels at the same time:

Our WMS keeps inventory synced across channels, and replenishment moves stock from pallet reserve to pick bins automatically when levels drop.

EDI

EDI connections with retailers

Retailers exchange orders, shipping notices and invoices through EDI. We work with EDI for retailers like Walmart and Wayfair. A typical retail order moves through these documents in order:

  1. EDI 850

The retailer sends a purchase order

The order reaches your system and is passed to us to fulfill.

  2. EDI 940

We receive the warehouse shipping order

Our team knows exactly what to prepare, for which location and by when.

  3. EDI 856

We confirm the shipment with a ship notice

The retailer knows what is on its way before it arrives.

  4. EDI 810

    The invoice closes the loop

Billing follows the shipment so you get paid on the retailer's terms.

Inventory updates (EDI 846) keep retailers informed of available stock. Connections through FTPSFTPAS2SPS CommerceTrueCommerce

Inside the warehouse

How retail orders move through our warehouse

Retail orders follow their own flow inside the same operation that ships your DTC orders.

  1. We receive and check your inventory

Containers, pallets or cartons are counted and inspected, and every SKU is matched to its record.

  2. We store it for every channel

Reserve stock sits on pallets and fast movers sit in pick bins, all visible in one WMS.

  3. Your B2B order comes in through the integration

Wholesale and retail orders arrive through EDI or your connected systems, with no manual re-typing.

  4. We prepare and dispatch it to your requirements

Orders are prepared following the SOP for your account and dispatched as wholesale or retail shipments.

Retailer rules

Your retailer requirements built into your SOP

Every retailer has its own supplier rules, and they change from account to account. That is why we build them into a standard operating procedure written for your brand.

During onboarding, you share the routing guide and requirements for each retailer you sell to. Your Member Success contact reviews them with our operations team, confirms how we will execute each one and turns them into instructions our floor team follows on every order.

FAQ

Retail fulfillment FAQs

What brands ask before sending their first retail order through a 3PL.

What is retail fulfillment?

Retail fulfillment is the process of storing, preparing and shipping orders for retailers and wholesale buyers. For brands, it usually means shipping cases or pallets to stores or distribution centers and exchanging documents like purchase orders, ship notices and invoices.

How is retail fulfillment different from ecommerce fulfillment?

Ecommerce fulfillment ships individual orders to shoppers. Retail fulfillment ships larger B2B orders to retailers, often through EDI and following each retailer's requirements.

Can you fulfill DTC and wholesale orders from the same inventory?

Yes. One inventory pool in Miami serves DTC, wholesale, retail and Amazon orders, and our WMS keeps stock synced across channels.

Do you work with EDI?

Yes. We work with EDI documents including 850, 856, 810, 940 and 846, connecting through FTP, SFTP or AS2 or through providers such as SPS Commerce and TrueCommerce.

Which retailers do you connect with?

We work with EDI for retailers like Walmart and Wayfair. For other retailers, share their requirements with us and we will confirm the setup during onboarding.

Can you follow my retailer's routing guide?

Share the routing guide during onboarding. We review it, confirm how we execute it for your account and build it into your SOP.

Can you ship pallets and cases to retail destinations?

Yes. We prepare wholesale and retail orders and ship them to retail destinations. Each retailer's specific requirements are confirmed during setup.

Can you also prepare Amazon FBA shipments?

Yes. Amazon FBA prep and labeling run from the same inventory that feeds your retail and DTC orders.
